Steelers Over Cards In Superbowl Rematch

The Pittsburgh Steelers used a 17 point fourth quarter outburst to break open a close game and send the Arizona Cardinals to defeat by a 20-10 score in a NFL preseason rematch of this years Superbowl. The two teams traded first half field goals and played a scoreless third quarter before Pittsburgh turned up the offense late in the game.

Baltimore Remains Undefeated In NFL Preseason With Win Over Carolina

The Baltimore defense shut down the Carolina attack, and QB Joe Flacco played a virtually mistake free game as the Ravens built a 14-3 halftime lead before going on to beat the Panthers 17-13. The banged up Panthers scored 10 points in the fourth quarter to make the final score respectable.

New Things Are Happening At Ole Miss Rebels Fall Camp This Year

With the opening of fall camp on Sunday at 5:25 pm, Ole Miss Rebels heads off for another round of competition in the forthcoming 2010 football conference games. After practicing basic techniques for several days, the team will be in full gear on Thursday August 12. Apart from the usual activities there are many things new in camp.

The History Of A Championship Team: The Indianapolis Colts

In 1953, a championship team was born: the Indianapolis Colts. Starting out in Baltimore, Maryland, the Colts began as the Baltimore Colts, playing in their home state. They didn’t end up in Indianapolis until 1984 where they played for many years at the Hoosier (now RCA) Dome. They have been named the horseshoes because of their logo and basic colors are blue and white, with the simple logo stamped on top.

A Look Into The Iowa Hawkeyes

The City of Iowa started playing football as a club sport in 1872. It gradually turned out to become a collegiate intramural event in 1882. Six years later, the University of Iowa assembled its official college football team. In 1899, due to their impressive play, the team received an invitation to play in the Western Football Conference. This conference is better known as the Big Ten. A year after that, owing to excellent performance, the team took part in the Western Conference title.

After two straight wins gave the BC Lions hope that they’d turned the corner on the CFL season, they’re officially back at square one. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers Fred Reid torched the BC Lions defense all night long, and his career performance helped his team earn a lopsided 37-10 victory at Vancouver on Friday night.

Patriots Back On Winning Track With Win Over Falcons

After an erratic start to the 2009 NFL regular season, the New England Patriots have finally found some balance to their offense. Tom Brady had carried all of the weight in the Pats first two regular season games due to their one dimensional offense, but on Sunday he received some long overdue help from running back Fred Taylor who ran for 105 yards. As a result, the Patriots dominated the time of possession battle holding onto the ball for nearly 40 minutes en route to a 26-10 victory over the Atlanta Falcons. Both teams are now 2-1 on the season.

Nemanja Vidic, the Serbian Captain and Manchester United defender has dismissed speculation that he plans to leave the club. He has been repeatedly linked to big money moves abroad to Barcelona, Real Madrid and AC Milan.
